Measures against Stepanakert Mayor David Sargsyan have been lifted, lawyer says
In an interview with Tert.am, lawyer Ruben Melikyan has reported that the measures applied against Stepanakert Mayor David Sargsyan have been lifted. “The trial concerning David Sargsyan is ongoing and is at its final stage,” he noted.
It is worth mentioning that on May 26, the court had ordered a 20-day detention for him after law enforcement conducted a several-hour search at his residence. The Investigative Committee informed that public criminal proceedings were initiated against four individuals, including Sargsyan, who is accused of fraud and forgery of documents.
On June 13, Judge Masis Melikonyan at the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, Avan residence, had decided to place him under home arrest for a period of two months.
