Opposition Supporters Organize March in Tbilisi: Details
Supporters of the Georgian opposition have organized a march in Tbilisi in protest against the government's decision to suspend negotiations for EU membership until 2028. They are moving towards the Parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue, holding flags of Georgia, the EU, Ukraine, and Germany.
Law enforcement officials have urged the protesters in Tbilisi to keep to the sidewalk and occupy only one lane of traffic. “At this stage, we can allow them to occupy one lane of traffic, and they can move along the sidewalk. Otherwise, we will take other measures,” said Goga Memanishvili, Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department.
Rustaveli Avenue is currently closed.
