EU Cannot Allow This: Ursula von der Leyen to Present Legal Framework for Use of Russian Assets

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced that the European Commission is set to present a legal framework for the confiscation and use of frozen Russian assets in Belgium in the coming days. Von der Leyen made this statement during a session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, as reported by TASS.

"The European Commission is ready to present a legal text regarding the use of Russian assets," she stated, emphasizing that the EU cannot permit the burden of Ukraine's reconstruction to fall solely on European taxpayers.

She highlighted that a final solution must be found to address the legal and financial risks and ensure a common European approach.
