Trump Shutters Musk-Led Government Efficiency Department Early

The U.S. Government Efficiency Department (DOGE), headed by Elon Musk, has been dissolved prematurely. This was announced by Scott Cooper, director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, as reported by Reuters.

Many of DOGE's functions have been transferred to the personnel management office, and some former employees have been reassigned to other positions within the administration.

At the end of April, Elon Musk stated that he would allocate significantly less time to leading DOGE and would focus on Tesla instead. A month later, he announced that his tenure in the U.S. administration was coming to an end. Donald Trump presented Musk with a golden key as a farewell gift.
