Moscow Closely Watching the Situation Surrounding Samvel Karapetyan and HETC: Zakharova
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated that the protection of Russian business interests abroad remains a priority, while discussing the situation surrounding the revocation of the license for the "Tashir Capital" HETC.
According to her, Moscow is closely monitoring the ongoing processes related to Samvel Karapetyan and HETC. Zakharova emphasized that intergovernmental mechanisms are in place between Armenia and Russia to discuss such matters.
She reminded that over the past two decades, HETC has been a leader in Armenia's energy market. The company has provided jobs for approximately 200,000 citizens and has regularly paid taxes.
From 2017 to 2023, the company spent around $700 million for the modernization of its infrastructure.
Zakharova also noted that she expects the managers appointed by the Armenian government to present more effective management models, but assessment will only be possible after specific actions are taken.
