Driving Without Winter Tires Will Be Prohibited Starting November 15
From November 15 to March 31, it will be prohibited to operate vehicles without the appropriate winter tires. Specifically, the operation of the vehicle will be prohibited if:
- winter tires are not installed on light passenger vehicles and cargo vehicles with a permissible maximum mass of up to 3.5 tons;
- the residual tread depth of winter tires designed for operation in icy or snow-covered road conditions is 4 millimeters or less during traffic on such roads.
Administrative penalties will apply for violations of the specified requirements. The Ministry of Internal Affairs prioritizes the creation of a safe environment for the life and health of citizens.
Dear traffic participants, the Ministry of Internal Affairs urges you to adhere to traffic safety rules, to acquire winter tires with the allowable tread depth, and to demonstrate conscious, law-abiding behavior.
