Plans for Establishing a Terrorist Group in Georgia: Arrests Made
The State Security Service of Georgia has announced the arrest of three individuals who, according to investigators, were planning to create a base for members of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization.
Intelligence agencies report that the arrested individuals intended to smuggle influential representatives of ISIS into the country and establish a foothold in Georgia under their leadership. The republic was planned to serve as a transit zone for the arrival of sympathizers, organizing logistics, and carrying out terrorist activities.
Investigative operations are ongoing, with the State Security Service probing potential connections between the arrestees and international terrorist organizations.
It is noted that Belgian police previously arrested three men in Antwerp who are suspected of planning assassination attempts against Prime Minister Bart De Wever and several other politicians.
