Russia Will Not Succeed in Sowing Division and Disorder in the EU, Says von der Leyen
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen promised on Wednesday that Russia will not succeed in sowing "division and discontent" within the bloc.
"This is a trend, and this trend comes from Russia," von der Leyen stated to reporters as defense negotiations began in Copenhagen. "Russia wants to test us, but it is also attempting to sow division and unrest in our societies. We will not allow that to happen."
It is worth noting that Russia has repeatedly denied any involvement in the sightings of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the airspace of NATO member countries.
Over the past week, several incidents involving UAVs have occurred across European countries. Following the appearances of unidentified devices, airports in Denmark, Norway, and Lithuania have suspended the arrival and departure of aircraft, while the main airport in the Netherlands closed its runway. On the evening of September 28, fighter jets were scrambled in Denmark due to another sighting of UAVs over Bornholm Island in the Baltic Sea.
