Pope Francis on the Russia-Ukraine Conflict
Pope Francis has described the Vatican's mediation efforts in the Russia-Ukraine conflict as unrealistic. This was reported by the Crux portal.
“I believe people heard my calls, calls to listen to this voice—the voice of Christians and people of good will, that peace is the only way out,” the Pope added.
Pope Francis noted that since the beginning of the conflict, the Vatican has worked hard to maintain a position that “does not mean choosing sides, but rather remaining neutral.” He added that within each party's stance, one can find both positive and negative aspects.
It is noteworthy that earlier, the Pope had suggested to Zelenskyy conducting negotiations with Russia at the Vatican.
