Russia Actively Participated in Blocking Azerbaijan's Membership in the SCO
The blockage of Azerbaijan's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was initiated not only by India, but Russia also actively participated in this process. This was reported by the Azerbaijani APA agency, citing diplomatic sources.
According to the agency's information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation played a key role in this process. The question of blocking Azerbaijan's application for SCO membership was discussed during political consultations between Russia and India, and the parties reached appropriate agreements. However, Russia pushed India to the forefront while remaining in the background.
