That Woman Demanded 300,000 Drams from Me: Davit Sanasaryan on the 'Hit and Run'
Former head of the Anti-Corruption Committee Davit Sanasaryan wrote on his Facebook page:
“ATTENTION! In my previous post, I stated that they are spreading lies and that I have not run over any child, which was followed by a fabricated accusation from a lying woman whose child touched the car while jumping from a stone and fell to the ground. Afterward, out of compassion, I went to a medical center with them, where the child was examined and it was said that there were no issues.
The next day, the woman called again and said that another examination was necessary. Leaving my other commitments aside, I spent hours at the hospital again, had another X-ray done, and once more it was determined that there were no problems.
I want to inform you that two days later, that woman demanded 300,000 drams from me, threatening that if I didn’t pay, she would tell the media that I had hit her child. When I told her that I wouldn't be giving any money, she said she would inform the media.
Once again, out of humanity, I inquired daily about the child's condition until the day when, after being refused on the financial matter, they asked me not to inquire about the child anymore.
Question: Why didn’t she say that a hit-and-run occurred at the hospital and why didn’t she go to the police?
Answer: Because that didn’t happen; there are witnesses, and if she had said such a thing, she would have been liable for false accusation.P.S. I am reporting a crime under the article on extortion. Those who make false accusations against innocent people or take on roles in political theater should be held accountable.
P.P.S. I regret that a parent can use their child to try to extort money.”
