Mother See Issues Statement
On September 2, in a gross violation of law and justice, the detention period of Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan was once again extended. This was stated in a release by the Mother See.
"It is highly evident that the court, instead of administering justice, has blatantly joined the anti-church campaign instigated by the authorities, assuming a disgraceful role in exacting revenge on clergy and individuals supporting the Church. It is crucial to put an end to these illegal actions, including the discriminatory approach, and to immediately release both His Grace Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan and those unlawfully detained on false charges," the statement reads.
