This amount was paid to victims of the events that occurred in Yerevan on March 1-2, 2008, as compensation from the state budget.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, on the early morning of March 1, 2008, following a nine-day protest, police actions were carried out in Liberty Square, clearing the square of all demonstrators and sealing it off. The clashes between demonstrators and police forces resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals.
The aforementioned officials are also accused of subverting the constitutional order in 2008.
