EU to Abolish U.S. Fertilizer Tariffs Due to Russia
The European Union intends to eliminate tariffs on American fertilizers, including ammonia, in order to reduce dependency on supplies from Russia. This was reported by a publication citing a senior EU official.
The decision will be implemented within the framework of a new trade agreement between Brussels and Washington. In particular, the removal of the existing 5.5% tariff on ammonia from the U.S. will allow for the expansion of alternative fertilizer imports, thereby reducing strategic risks for the EU.
