Powerful Earthquake in Russia: Evacuations in Coastal Region
A series of eight earthquakes, with a magnitude of 8.7, were recorded near the shores of Kamchatka within one hour, with no casualties reported. This information was provided to TASS by the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
It is noteworthy that the epicenters were located at depths ranging from 7 to 100 kilometers. A tsunami warning has been issued for Kamchatka, the Kuril Islands, Japan, and several states in the United States.
