The Murder of Former Deputy Minister of Defense Vahram Khorkhoruni has been Solved
The murder of Vahram Khorkhoruni has been uncovered. According to the Investigative Committee of Armenia, extensive investigative and procedural measures conducted during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, along with operational and intelligence activities undertaken by the National Security Service of Armenia, have revealed that S.A., H.N., and A.A. committed the murder of former Deputy Minister of Defense Vahram Khorkhoruni on December 10, 1998, driven by mercenary motives, with S.A. organizing and coordinating the action.
Specifically, S.A., being a serviceman, had aimed to organize the murder of Vahram Khorkhoruni for mercenary reasons. He offered two individuals $10,000 and $15,000, respectively, to carry out the murder.
On the evening of December 9, 1998, members of the criminal group, acting with prior agreement, met at Republic Square and, in the car driven by H.N., proceeded to the residence of Vahram Khorkhoruni, where they lay in wait for him to return home.
At approximately 00:30 on December 10, 1998, as Vahram Khorkhoruni entered the building to go to his apartment, they opened fire on him with a homemade gun equipped with a silencer, firing five shots, three of which hit his face, and two struck the back area of his left chest, resulting in his immediate death. The members of the criminal group, S.A., A.A., and H.N., immediately fled the scene.
Based on sufficient evidence obtained during the investigation, public criminal proceedings have been initiated against S.A. under Article 155, Part 2, Point 10 of the Criminal Code (murder committed for mercenary motives) and Article 335, Part 1 (illegal trafficking of firearms, their main components, military ammunition, and other materials, devices, items). He has been arrested.
