US Eavesdrops on Iranian Officials' Phone Conversations: What Has Been Revealed
According to the Washington Post, the US has eavesdropped on private phone conversations of Iranian officials. The content of these conversations indicates that the results of attacks on the country’s nuclear facilities do not align with Donald Trump’s assertion that Iran’s nuclear program has been 'terminated or set back by decades.' According to WP, both the scale of airstrikes and the damage inflicted on Iran by the US have been significantly exaggerated.
The same narrative is echoed by Rafael Grossi, the head of the IAEA, who had previously stated this. In turn, the White House does not deny that these private conversations were intercepted. However, Trump’s spokesperson, Caroline Leavitt, has sharply reacted to the information. 'It is shameful that the Washington Post disseminates information without context, thereby helping people commit crimes. Iran’s nuclear program is finished,' she reiterated the official US stance.
