Details of Erdogan and Trump's Discussion Revealed
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit. This was reported by the Turkish presidential office.
The statement mentioned that during the meeting, the two leaders discussed Turkey-U.S. relations as well as regional and global issues. President Erdogan welcomed the ceasefire achieved through the efforts of the U.S. President between Iran and Israel, expressing hope that it will be sustained.
He also emphasized the importance of close dialogue for a swift resolution to the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and for a peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
According to the message, “both leaders stressed the importance of taking measures to strengthen NATO's deterrent capability.” President Erdogan added that there is significant potential for cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of energy and investment, and that the development of cooperation in the defense industry would contribute to increasing bilateral trade to $100 billion.
