Putin Makes a Statement
Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he is ready to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but he questions the legal legitimacy of the latter. "I am ready to meet with everyone, including Zelensky. The question is who will sign the documents," Putin said during a meeting with heads of international news agencies at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
"The President of Ukraine is elected for five years, and even during martial law there are no measures to extend that term. Only the work of the parliament is extended during martial law. In this case, nothing is written anywhere about the rights of the president," the Russian president added.
