New Project for Importing Electric Cars: Details
MP Arsen Torosyan has written: “The Ministry of Economy has presented a draft law for public discussion, according to which the 20% VAT exemption applied to the import of electric cars will be extended from January 1, 2026, to January 1, 2028, for vehicles that are not more than 2 years old from their release date.
This is a very important project that will ensure the maintenance of positive trends in the automobile market by increasing the import of more environmentally friendly cars and updating the overall vehicle fleet. It will also encourage the consumption of surplus electricity produced during nighttime hours and boost our country's energy independence, as we have our own electricity production, unlike gasoline, diesel, and gas.
I hope that after the public discussion, the bill will be submitted to the National Assembly and approved by us.”
