Illegal Logging of Over 16 Million Dram Recorded in Botanical Garden
In the State Environmental Inspectorate, an administrative case has been initiated regarding the illegally cut trees within the premises of the "A. Takhtajan Institute of Botany" of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. As part of the case, an inspection of the area revealed that 34 tree stumps of the species "Summer Oak" with diameters ranging from 35 to 74 cm were illegally cut in the southeastern part of the garden.
The damage caused to the plant world due to the illegal logging is estimated at 16,570,000 AMD. Based on the materials of the administrative case, a report concerning the apparent crime has been submitted to the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
