Protesters Block Street in Front of Yerevan City Hall
Residents of the Vardashen dormitories are staging a protest in front of Yerevan City Hall, demanding a meeting with city authorities. After waiting for 1.5 hours, they decided to block Argishti Street. Among them is former council member Sona Aghikyan.
It is noted that the apartment buildings in the Vardashen neighborhood are classified as 4th category emergency structures, with damaged sewage pipes causing wastewater to flood the basement.
“We want our issue to be resolved; they promised during the elections. They are obliged to address this matter. We will go from here to the government building and then return to the City Hall,” stated one of the residents.
Recall that last week, the residents of Vardashen also gathered near City Hall, again demanding a meeting with Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan and Deputy Mayor Armen Pambukhchyan. According to the residents, they had promised to resolve their housing issues during the elections.
