Epicenter of Earthquake in Yerevan Revealed
On March 12, 2025, at 17:10:37 local time (13:10:37 GMT), an earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale was recorded in Yerevan, with an epicenter at a depth of 10 km. This was stated in a report issued by the Institute of Geophysics and Engineering Seismology named after A. Nazarov of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
"The intensity of seismic impact at the epicenter is estimated at 4-5 on the MSK-64 scale. The earthquake was recorded by the automated seismic geomDynamics network operating at the A. Nazarov Institute of Geophysics and Engineering Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia. The geographic coordinates of the epicenter are 40.1340 N latitude and 44.4880 E longitude. The epicenter is located in the Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan," the report states.
