This is precisely what is just. Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during his visit to London, discussed "reliable security guarantees" with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. This was reported by dw.com.
“During our negotiations, we discussed the challenges facing Ukraine and Europe today, coordination with partners, and specific steps to strengthen Ukraine's positions and end the war with a just peace and reliable security guarantees,” he emphasized.
The leader of the Ukrainian state described the meeting as "important and warm." Starmer welcomed Zelensky to his residence and assured him of support for Ukraine.
“You have the full support of the United Kingdom as long as there is a need for it. Stable peace based on Ukraine's sovereignty and security is essential for Ukraine, Europe, and the United Kingdom,” said the UK Prime Minister.
Zelensky thanked the British people and Starmer for their support, for the invitation to meet King Charles III on March 2, and for organizing a summit on Ukraine in London.
On the same day, British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves and Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergey Marchenko signed a £2.26 billion loan agreement (€2.74 billion) to support the Ukrainian military. London described this as evidence of “the unwavering and permanent support of the Ukrainian people.” The loan is to be repaid using profits from seized Russian assets. This was reported by AFP.
Zelensky stated that the loan is aimed at strengthening Kyiv's defense capabilities. “The money will be used for the production of weapons in Ukraine. This is precisely what is just. The aggressor must pay,” he said, referring to the frozen assets of the Russian Federation.
“We are glad to have such strategic partners and a shared vision of what trust in the future should look like for everyone,” concluded the President of Ukraine. On March 2, about 10 European leaders, including Starmer and Zelensky, will participate in the summit in London. They include German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and European Council President Antonio Costa.
