Trump on Trusting and Verifying Putin
US President Donald Trump has stated that if the Russia-Ukraine conflict does not reach a prompt resolution, it may not end at all. This was reported by Euronews.
“We are working hard to bring that war to an end. There is already significant progress; things are moving very quickly. You will also be informed about the further course of actions. Either it will happen quite quickly, or it will not happen at all,” Trump said.
During a meeting with reporters, the US leader was asked whether he could trust Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Trust and verify. I am confident that when we reach an agreement, it will be upheld,” Trump noted.
According to Trump, it is necessary to verify, because one never knows what might happen.
