US Customs and Border Protection Team Has Not Yet Arrived in Armenia, Says Rafael Gevorgyan
The anticipated visit of the US Customs and Border Protection team to Armenia has not taken place. This was stated by Rafael Gevorgyan, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, in response to an inquiry from Armenpress.
“We inform that the visit of the US customs and border protection team to Armenia has not occurred,” he noted. The State Revenue Committee has not provided further details regarding the scheduled visit, attributing it to the team's failure to arrive in Armenia.
It is recalled that during the ceremony for the signing of the Strategic Partnership Charter between Armenia and the US held in Washington on January 14, 2025, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that in the coming weeks, the American customs and border protection team would head to Armenia to assist in the development of border security capabilities.
