Iran's Foreign Ministry Responds Strongly to the US
Iran categorically condemns the new package of sanctions imposed by the United States aimed at pressuring the Islamic Republic's oil sales. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“The decision on trade and economic cooperation between countries is part of the legitimate right of peoples to determine their own destiny, and neither side has the right to interfere with or prohibit their trade and economic relations under political pretexts,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei.
According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Baghaei stated that US sanctions contradict the UN Charter and violate the rights of Iranians. Earlier, the administration of US President Donald Trump imposed new sanctions on oil brokers, ships, and individuals associated with Iran’s illegal oil supplies as part of its strategy to return to a policy of 'maximum pressure' on the Iranian economy.
