Bridge Under Construction Collapses in South Korea, Resulting in Casualties
A bridge under construction in South Korea has collapsed, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuring five others, local media reports. The tragedy occurred on the Seoul-Sejong Expressway, where workers were using a crane to move several steel columns that were secured to the upper part of the bridge.
The five 50-meter steel pillars supporting the bridge collapsed in succession. The National Fire Agency has issued a command to mobilize firefighters to search for individuals who are missing as a result of the accident.
Acting South Korean President Choi Hwan-gook has instructed that all resources and personnel be deployed to carry out rescue operations.
