Trump's Birthday as a National Holiday: Bill Proposed in Congress
A bill has been introduced in the U.S. Congress to designate President Donald Trump's birthday as a national holiday. This is reported by The Guardian.
The legislation, put forward by Republican Claudia Tenney, is likely doomed to failure, but it clearly aims to win the president's favor. “His impact on the nation is undeniable,” Tenney stated in a press release.
“Just as George Washington's birthday is codified as a federal holiday, President Trump’s birthday should be celebrated, recognizing him as a founder of America’s golden age,” Tenney wrote.
It is proposed that Trump’s birthday, June 14, be celebrated alongside the observance of Flag Day in the United States.
