Passenger Plane Rolls Over While Landing in Toronto
A Delta Airlines aircraft has been involved in an accident while landing at Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport. This has been reported by Canadian broadcaster CTV News.
According to Globe and Mail, at the time of the aviation accident, the weather conditions at the airport were challenging, with a temperature of -9 degrees Celsius, blizzard conditions, and winds gusting up to 18 m/s.
Photos posted on social media show the aircraft rolled over. Recent media reports indicate that 18 individuals have been injured, including one child, who along with two adults has been hospitalized in critical condition. Earlier, CTV News had reported eight injured, but further details regarding their conditions were not available.
Preliminary information indicates there were 80 people on the plane. The airport has confirmed details regarding the incident. “Toronto Pearson is aware of the incident that occurred during the landing of a Delta Airlines flight arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency crews have been dispatched to the scene,” reads the airport's statement.
