We Are Not in a Peace Phase, We Are in a Brutal War. Olaf Scholz
Support for Ukraine is only possible if a decision is made to allocate separate funding. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to reporters.
“It is quite clear that our ongoing and necessary support for Ukraine is only possible if we can decide to fund it separately. Any attempt to finance it reduces our country’s budget, cuts investments in infrastructure, reduces our social cohesion, and of course does not receive support from our citizens,” said Scholz.
His conversation with the media was broadcast by the German television channel Welt.
During an emergency meeting of European leaders in Paris on the issue of Ukraine, Chancellor Olaf Scholz also addressed the current situation, stating, “We are not in a peace phase, we are in a brutal war.”
