Turkey to Assist Syria in Fighting Terrorism, Fidan
The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, has announced his country’s readiness to support Syria in combating terrorism and urged the Kurdish armed forces to disperse.
“During today’s meeting, we reaffirmed our united position on the issue of fighting terrorism. Once again, I want to emphasize that the Kurdistan Workers’ Party and the ‘People’s Defense Units’ have absolutely no place in Syria. These terrorist organizations seize the lands of the Syrian people and steal its natural resources,” he stated.
According to the head of Turkish diplomacy, assistance to the new authorities in Damascus also includes cooperation in the fight against the terrorist organization known as the Islamic State.
“All sanctions previously imposed on Syria should be lifted in the interest of the country’s recovery,” Fidan added.
