Get Down to Business: Avetisyan on Transportation Issues
At the beginning of today’s session of the National Assembly, Teodos Avetisyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, raised the issue of bus drivers' strike in Yerevan that started this morning.
"Taking advantage of the presence of government officials here, I want to discuss an important agenda item that concerns at least one-third of our country's population. The issue is about the transportation in Yerevan. If you step outside right now, despite the peak hours having passed, you will see the catastrophic state of public transportation in Yerevan.
Now, why am I here? I am here to help ensure that the mayor keeps his promises, so to speak. He said, 'Tell us, and we will do it,' but people say complicated things. It’s difficult. We are saying, 'Get down to business,' because the transportation is in this state, it is hard, but you promised, go and do it,' he stated.
‘Don’t get angry, Mr. Avetisyan, please adhere to the speaking rules of the National Assembly,’ responded Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan.
