Andranik Kocharyan Summoned to the CP Administrative Office
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that Andranik Kocharyan has once again been "summoned" to the Armenian Revolutionary Federation's meeting on November 12 to explain the internal intrigues he has instigated.
Although members of the ruling Civil Contract party are denying their internal disagreements with hesitant and fearful statements, these tensions are deepening. The older member of the party, known as the "old fox," continues to weave intrigues within the team.
The paper learned from informed sources that during the last meeting, the party leadership tried to clarify why Andranik Kocharyan has been denigrating Hrachya Hakobyan (the Prime Minister’s brother-in-law), Sisak Gabrielian, and other representatives of this wing, linking them to businessmen enriching themselves through drug trafficking and bets, labeling them as "businessmen involved in drug distribution." These discussions prompted both Hrachya Hakobyan and Sisak Gabrielian to raise two questions with the party's top leadership: either Andranik Kocharyan must prove his allegations or he should be dismissed.
As neither scenario has transpired yet, alongside the instruction for Gyumri's candidate Karen Sarukhanyan to take a drug test, Andranik Kocharyan's non-team behavior has also been discussed.
According to "Zhoghovurd," in order to avoid showing favoritism, the administration did not express a position that day; rather, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attempted to "caution" the parties involved and "rebuke" them for irresponsible behavior and statements, leaving the issue unresolved. Therefore, the declared "ceasefire" is not final; the question of Andranik Kocharyan's dismissal remains a priority on the Civil Contract party's agenda.
It is noteworthy that since 2021, the number of supporters for Kocharyan within the party is decreasing day by day.
