Kilikia Where, I Where, Kilikia Is Not My Historical Homeland: Aghazaryan
MP from the ruling Civil Contract faction, Hovik Aghazaryan, commented on the speech of the opposition Hayastan faction MP Armen Rustamyan, stating that while the latter's speech was emotional, he did not agree with some points. 'Mr. Rustamyan, when you were young, there was a beautiful, emotional song titled “I will go, reach Kilikia.” What associations do you have when you hear that song? For example, when I heard it in my teenage years, I cried, but as I grew older and studied more, I realized that I should not cry for Kilikia, I should not waste my energy on it. Kilikia is where, and I am where. Kilikia is not my historical homeland,' said Aghazaryan, adding that Van and Kars are his historical homelands. 'Kilikia is not my historical homeland. At that time, educated, developed, strong guys like you left our homeland, went and created their own homeland elsewhere. But, thank God, you are not leaving the homeland and are fighting to come to power.'
