Gyumri Left to Neglect, Salary Payments Cease: Aleksanyan
The current state of the city is greatly concerning to us, and the behavior of the "Balasanyan" alliance, which has left the city in neglect, is utterly condemnable. As a result, municipal employees have not been receiving their salaries, and the city is on the brink of being buried in waste. This was stated by MP Vahagn Aleksanyan during a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly.
“All of this is absolutely unacceptable to us. Regarding the ruling party, the bloc has backed out of its coalition, but it has not relinquished its mandates, nor has it caused a crisis; it has simply begun to operate as an opposition force,” he noted.
Concerning discussions about pressures from the authorities, Aleksanyan remarked, “If the government intended to suppress one of the factions without a majority in the council, they would do so in a manner that would compel several members from that faction to choose the candidate from the ruling party.”
It is important to recall that the mayor of Gyumri has resigned, and 14 members of the "Balasanyan alliance" have relinquished their mandates in the council.
