Trump May Nominate Marco Rubio for Secretary of State
US President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly planning to nominate Senator Marco Rubio for the position of Secretary of State, sources have informed The New York Times (NYT). Since January 2021, this position has been held by Antony Blinken in the current administration of President Joe Biden.
Sources from the newspaper emphasized that Trump "could still change his mind at the last minute." It was noted that the American leader considered Rubio as a potential vice presidential candidate even before the start of the election campaign.
Rubio has been elected as a member of the Senate and has positioned himself as a politician with a tough stance on China and Iran, as stated in the article.
Earlier, it was reported that Donald Trump plans to appoint Florida Congressman Mike Waltz as his assistant for national security issues.
