Why Armenia Did Not Join 2 Statements in Moscow: Mirzoyan Clarifies
Armenia did not join two statements adopted at the meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council because certain formulations were unacceptable. This was stated today in the National Assembly by Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, in response to a question from Lilit Minasyan, a member of the "Civil Contract" faction.
She inquired why Armenia did not join the two documents, titled "Principles of Security in Eurasia" and "On the Unacceptability of Unilateral Measures in International Relations," which were adopted during the CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting held in Moscow on October 7.
“I don’t want to go into too many details of the discussions because they were, after all, behind closed doors, and they contain certain diplomatic and confidentiality elements; it may not be very correct from an ethical standpoint. We proposed formulations that were not included in these statements, and conversely, there were formulations in those statements that were unacceptable for us,” the Minister noted.
According to him, as a result of the discussions, it was decided not to join the documents.
