Opposition Armenian Police Chief Returns to Politics in Georgia: 'Fact'
The former head of the Ninotsminda district police in Georgia and public figure Arsen Karapetyan has officially announced his return to politics, deeming it a necessary step to pull the country out of its political and economic crisis. This was reported by the newspaper 'Fact'.
In his pre-election interview, he emphasized that he sees it as his duty to protect the interests of citizens and to lead Georgia towards sustainable development. 'I left the police because my principles and beliefs no longer aligned with the conditions in which I found myself. It is impossible to work in a system that rejects the interests of its people and drives the country towards destruction,' Karapetyan noted.
He also added that the current leadership of the state is not making adequate efforts to prevent the deterioration of the situation in the country. According to Karapetyan, the main goal and reason for his return to politics is to restore citizens' trust in the government and improve public administration.
He pointed out that Georgian institutions have suffered from corruption and inefficiency in recent years, while economic and political processes have only worsened the country's situation.
Karapetyan hopes to gain the trust of a significant portion of the electorate, emphasizing that his program is aimed at real change and improving the lives of people. 'My experience in law enforcement has shown that changes are necessary, and that is why I am returning to politics. I know how to restore order and how to create a system that serves the citizens and not specific interests,' he stated.
Opposition figure Arsen Karapetyan considers the restoration of justice and ensuring effective governance to be his primary task: 'Georgian citizens deserve a better future. They deserve justice, security, and opportunities for development.'
