Proposal to Form Working Group for Electoral Reforms by the Opposition
The opposition plans to propose the formation of a working group for electoral reforms in the National Assembly, as informed by Arzvik Minasyan, a member of the "Armenia" alliance, yesterday. This was reported by the newspaper "Hraparak".
"On October 16, tomorrow, the National Assembly's committee on legal and constitutional issues has scheduled a working discussion on the draft amendments to the Electoral Code and related laws, and during that discussion, Minasyan will present the proposal, hoping that this will lead to a thorough discussion on the necessary changes and their justification.
It is noteworthy that the authorities have presented a project to amend the Electoral Code before the elections, aiming to further tailor the legislation in favor of the ruling party and secure its reproduction. Minasyan stated that the opposition is currently studying the project and will express their opinion on it in the near future," the newspaper reports.
