Brazil Unblocks Elon Musk's X Social Network, Formerly Twitter
Brazil has unblocked Elon Musk's X social network, formerly known as Twitter. A judge from the Brazilian Supreme Court annulled the ban on the operation of the social network in the country on Tuesday. Recently, Musk complied with the judge's demands and began blocking accounts of extremists and paying fines.
Brazilian Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes announced that the lifting of the ban on X would take immediate effect and ordered the country's telecommunications agency to restore the former Twitter account for all Brazilian users within 24 hours.
In late August, Judge de Moraes had prohibited the former Twitter from operating in the country due to Musk's refusal to delete accounts of right-wing radicals accused of spreading disinformation and his refusal to appoint an official representative in the country.
During a conflict with Judge de Moraes, Elon Musk referred to him as a tyrant and firmly refused to fulfill his demands, considering them an attack on free speech. However, he recently reconsidered: Network X began blocking the accounts that de Moraes had requested. A representative was appointed in Brazil, and he paid millions in fines levied against him.
