Aliyev Criticizes Western Sanctions Policy as Unjustifiable
The Western sanctions policy has no right to exist, especially when these sanctions are illegal, stated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in a video commentary published on journalist Pavel Zarubin's Telegram channel.
"The Western sanctions policy has no right to exist, especially when these sanctions are illegal and applied completely unjustly and selectively. We are categorically against any sanctions and believe that the international community should express its position regarding our national capabilities. Express this position not just for us (Baku), but also regarding the sanctions imposed against us, which were related to territories occupied by Armenians since 1992," he said.
According to him, these sanctions were not lifted in 2001 when the United States needed to transit aerial, land, and sea cargo through Azerbaijan to Afghanistan.
