It Is Known When the Metro Will Completely Abandon Tokens
The Yerevan Metro will completely abandon the use of tokens for fare payment by the end of October. This decision is driven by the transition to a unified payment system for transport. Babken Sedrakyan, the head of the relevant department, stated this during a meeting at the city hall.
For several months now, only one checkpoint accepting tokens has been operating at all metro stations, while the others have been functioning with an electronic payment system.
