How Likely is a Nuclear War?

In an interview with Foreign Policy magazine on Monday, former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated: "So far, we have not seen any changes in the positioning of nuclear forces that would require us to make corresponding changes ourselves."

“North Korea is supplying a huge amount of ammunition, particularly, for Russia. And most of it is being transported via rail, a railway that crosses North Korea's border, a land border into Russia, and then to the frontline, and this capacity is large enough to transport via rail, which is also why it is important to continue robust sanctions against North Korea, as well as a reason why NATO has expanded cooperation with our partners in the Asia-Pacific region, including South Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand,” he added.

“What happens in Asia is important for Europe. What happens in Europe is important for Asia. Or as the Prime Minister of Japan recently stated, what is happening in Ukraine today could happen in Asia today and could happen in Asia tomorrow.”

He also claimed that China and Russia are closer than ever. “It’s not because NATO has brought them together, it’s because they agree that they believe in a different world order,” Stoltenberg noted.
