Telegram Founder Pavel Durov Nominated for Nobel Prize
The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, has been nominated for the Nobel Prize. The documents were submitted to the committee by Konstantin Klimenko, the rector of the Eurasian International University. He considers Durov to be a leader of the new era of digital technologies.
“I personally consider Pavel Durov to be an outstanding individual. He is a pioneer in the new digital technologies of our time. In my opinion, Durov deserves the Nobel Prize,” Klimenko wrote.
It has been reported that he has invited Durov to speak at the BRICS investment conference in Dubai. Durov may participate in the conference remotely if he is not released from detention in France.
It should be noted that Pavel Durov was arrested at the Le Bourget airport. He reportedly arrived from Azerbaijan on a private jet. The case regarding Durov, the founder of the Telegram social network, involves 12 offenses, most of which are cyber crimes.
