Why a Child Died in Gyumri's 'Children's House': Clarification
As we reported, a child died at the 'Children's House' state institution in Gyumri on August 2. In connection with the incident, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs released a clarification stating that the child was placed under state care on August 12, 2022, just two days after birth, due to severe congenital health issues (specific health problems are not disclosed due to medical confidentiality and are not subject to publication).
“Children with severe health issues also live in state care facilities, and unfortunately, there are diseases that are often incompatible with life. On August 2, 2024, before the child's death, resuscitation measures were conducted by the institution's on-duty doctor and nurse, and an ambulance was called. The resuscitation efforts were in vain, and the child's death was recorded. The care facility immediately reported the incident to the Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in Gyumri,” the clarification states.
