Swedish swimmer Viktor Johansson has announced that he will not participate in the 10 km swim at the Paris Olympic Games due to the quality of the Seine River water. The information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the newspaper Dagens Nyheter.

“The medical team of the Swedish National Olympic Committee advised me not to compete. This is, of course, the right decision. The health of the athletes is the most important thing. After discussing all the risks with the team, we decided that the best solution is to withdraw,” Johansson's statement is quoted by Dagens Nyheter.

Earlier, Belgian triathlete Claire Michel was hospitalized due to a gastrointestinal infection, after which the Belgian team withdrew from the mixed relay event. Additionally, Swiss representatives Adrien Briffod and Simon Wüsterman have also opted out of the mixed relay due to stomach issues.
