Biden Promises to Defend Israel from Iran
US President Joe Biden has pledged assistance to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone conversation to protect against threats from Iran, the White House reports.
“The President reiterated his commitment to defend Israel from all threats posed by Iran, including from Tehran's allied groups such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis,” stated the US administration's announcement.
Among other topics, Biden discussed with Netanyahu the issue of protecting Israel from ballistic missiles and drones. He specifically reminded Israel about the deployment of additional American forces.
At the same time, the announcement emphasized that “the US President highlighted the importance of de-escalating tensions in the Middle East region.”
