Video: Cause of Explosion Leading to Child's Death in Voskehat Revealed
On August 1, around 06:00, an explosion occurred in one of the houses in the village of Voskehat, Shirak Province, resulting in significant damage to the house and harm to a parked vehicle in the yard. This was reported by Gor Abrahamyan, the press secretary of the Investigative Committee, on his Facebook page.
“As a result, a resident of the house, a 12-year-old child, was killed, and the body was recovered from the rubble. Additionally, two female residents, aged 31 and 56, were taken to the Gyumri Medical Center with injuries.
According to preliminary, yet to be verified information, the explosion occurred due to a gas leak from a liquefied gas cylinder while the resident was turning on the gas stove. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 412 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia at the Akhuryan Investigative Division of the Shirak Regional Investigative Department.
Investigators from the Akhuryan Investigative Division are at the scene to carry out urgent, priority investigative actions. Necessary investigative and procedural actions have been taken to clarify the circumstances of the event,” he wrote.
