"The city needs to be enhanced with a new drainage system," declared Yerevan Mayor's advisor Kamo Areyan.

He informed that inventory work has been carried out: "In yard areas, the drainage system has been physically interfered with over the years and is functioning at almost 40 percent. In the yard areas servicing multi-apartment buildings, this drainage system is mostly non-functional," he stated.

According to Areyan, there is no drainage system at 29 addresses in different administrative districts of the capital, indicating the necessity for construction work.

Kamo Areyan noted that about 28 km of drainage was built during road construction works: "This drainage system has been presented to be handed over to "Veolia Water," but the process is slow." Areyan mentioned that the company needs to strengthen its services, but it is not providing adequate service.
